A major Australian airport undergoing significant infrastructure upgrades required a new system to manage taxi movements within its passenger pick-up zones.
As part of broader infrastructure works, the airport needed a reliable system to signal when specific taxi types (including Maxi Cabs) were required at designated gates.
Two gate locations were positioned at varying distances from the operator station — one approximately 100 metres away with clear line-of-sight, and another approximately 500 metres away with multiple building obstructions

The solution needed to be wireless, robust in an outdoor environment, resistant to interference, and simple for operators to use — while avoiding disruption to airport operations during installation.
The client required:
We designed and delivered a fully integrated Taxi Area Indicator Light System incorporating:
The system was prefabricated and fully tested off-site prior to delivery to minimise on-site disruption and reduce operational risk during installation
The airport received a robust, interference-resistant wireless signalling system that enables clear, reliable communication to remote taxi gates.
The intuitive push-button interface and adjustable timer functionality allow operators to easily manage taxi flow in real time, improving operational efficiency within the pick-up zone.
The system was successfully deployed with minimal disruption to live airport operations and is designed for scalable future expansion.
